I can honestly say my experience here was deeply disappointing. I had high hopes for the mental health services provided, especially given the variety of programs they offer, like trauma-informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy. However, I left feeling more traumatized than before. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to provide the necessary support for my situation. Instead of being a safe haven for healing, it felt more like a bureaucratic maze, lacking the empathy and understanding that someone in distress needs. I felt like just another case number rather than a person needing help. This isn’t what I expected from a facility with such a robust portfolio of services, including support for both adults and children. Unfortunately, my visit left a lasting negative impression, and I can't recommend this place for anyone seeking genuine help.

Upon entering Texas Health and Human Services in San Antonio's South Side, I was greeted with a sense of unease rather than the comfort I expected. The security check felt more like a scene from a bad movie than a health facility. I don't typically jump to conclusions, but the staff's rude demeanor made an already uncomfortable situation feel even worse. It's baffling how important a welcoming atmosphere is, especially in a place dedicated to mental health. If they could just improve their exit signs and train the staff to be a little more courteous, it would make a world of difference. I'm disappointed, and to be honest, I left feeling worse than when I arrived.
