I left feeling absolutely invigorated after my Shotokan karate classes! The energy in the room was contagious, and I loved how the instructors focused on each individual, making sure everyone grasped the various techniques. It was fantastic to see both beginners and more experienced students working together, sharing tips, and pushing each other to improve. I was initially a bit hesitant, wanting to improve my fitness but unsure if martial arts was my thing. However, the supportive staff made the experience surprisingly fun and approachable. Whether you're hoping to build muscle tone or just want a new way to stay active, I wholeheartedly recommend giving these classes a shot!

I walked in for my first Aikido class in Lake View, and I was immediately impressed by the warm atmosphere. The chief instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making it clear that I was in good hands. The instruction was top-notch, focusing on the fundamentals while also introducing advanced techniques in a way that felt accessible. I appreciated how the classes emphasized cooperation and respect, which are core values in Aikido. Each session left me feeling more connected to my body and balanced in my mind. I occasionally attend classes here, and each time I do, I'm reminded of how effective this practice is for both mental and physical wellness. If you're looking for quality martial arts training in the heart of Chicago's Lake View neighborhood, this is the place to go!

I walked into the Japanese Culture Center, super excited to dive into one of those Ikebana classes Iβd heard so much about. But to my disappointment, it was closed! π I really think they should update their website with the actual hours because I was looking forward to exploring some new cultural experiences. The place looked inviting, though, and I guess Iβll have to try againβhopefully next time I won't be left standing at the door! π
