Before I left the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute, I had mixed feelings about my experience. The staff were generally caring, but I found the communication about my scans and treatment plans to be frustratingly slow. It felt like I was often left waiting for updates, which can be particularly stressful when you're dealing with something as serious as cancer. While the oncologist consultation itself provided useful information, the lack of timely communication really dampened the experience for me. I think they could improve a lot by streamlining their scheduling and ensuring that new patients like myself receive quicker feedback. Overall, I appreciated the support services they offer, but there’s definitely room for improvement in how they communicate important information.

After just a few visits for my cancer treatment journey, I’ve found the nursing staff to be incredibly warm and supportive. They truly seem to care about each patient’s experience, which made a tough time feel a little less daunting. I had the pleasure of interacting with Dr. Butrinsky, who explained the treatment process clearly and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. However, I did feel a bit frustrated at times with the handling of my referrals and communication about my treatment plan. It would really help if things were a bit more streamlined to avoid any confusion. Still, having access to their alternative medicine options and nutrition counseling during treatment has been a game changer for me. Overall, a supportive atmosphere that feels like a community, and I appreciate everything they’re doing to help me through this. 🌼
