I wasn’t really impressed with my experience here. I was looking for some mental health support, but the consultation felt more like a checklist than an actual conversation. The practitioner seemed a bit rushed and lacked empathy, which was pretty disappointing. I think it would really help if they could approach patients with more care. Not quite what I hoped for. 😕

Without hesitation, I can say my experience with gender-affirming care in Staten Island was really disappointing. When I first walked in, I hoped to find a supportive environment where I could feel understood and respected. Instead, I encountered staff who seemed uninformed about trans issues, which turned a visit that should have been empowering into a humiliating experience. They used the wrong terminology and made assumptions that left me feeling even more marginalized. It’s frustrating because I believe the clinic has the potential to provide excellent care, but they truly need to invest time in training their staff on proper language and the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community. I hope they take this feedback seriously so future patients can have a much better experience.
