I was really hoping for a better experience during my recent surgery consultation. My main goal was to get effective pain relief, but I left feeling frustrated instead. The staff seemed unhelpful, and I felt like my concerns about pain management weren't taken seriously. Communication could definitely be improved; it felt like I was just another number rather than a person with real worries. I occasionally seek out their services, but this visit really made me reconsider. I hope they can focus on better communication and a more supportive approach in the future.

Upon entering Scripps Health in Hillcrest, I felt a mixture of hope and anxiety for my total knee replacement surgery. The staff welcomed me with genuine smiles, and I appreciated how attentive most of them were during my visit. Dr. Dietz and his team, including Justin and Steven, were fantastic. They made sure to explain everything clearly and were very empathetic, which helped ease my nerves. However, there were a couple of interactions that left me feeling frustrated, particularly with a few staff members who had a noticeably brusque bedside manner. It was tough to deal with when I was already feeling vulnerable. Honestly, a little more kindness from everyone would go a long way in making a patient feel cared for. Overall, the surgical aspect seemed to go well, and I'm on my way to recovery, but I hope they can work on having a more consistent level of compassion among the team.
