I ended up in the emergency room in La Jolla recently, and while the facility itself seemed well equipped, I couldn't shake the feeling of frustration once I got the bill. 😕 There was little transparency about costs upfront, and I was hit with high medical bills without ever receiving clear estimates. I felt like I was navigating a maze, especially when it came to understanding if any of the doctors involved were out-of-network. The staff could've been more helpful, too—they didn't seem to have answers to my questions about costs or procedures. I really wish they would improve by providing clearer estimates for services and disclosing any potential out-of-network providers upfront. It's frustrating as a patient to deal with hidden costs when all you want is some medical assistance. I'm hopeful they can work on better communication in the future.
