After my first appointment at Harris County Public Health in Houston, I have to say I was pretty frustrated. I came in hopeful, looking for support to help my family, especially concerning their behavioral health needs. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lack of organization when it came to scheduling and communication. I felt like I was left wandering without the guidance I was seeking. The staff interaction I encountered was not as helpful as I had hoped. I truly believe that they have great services to offer, especially in chronic disease management and maternal health programs, but improvement in their scheduling process could make a world of difference. I left feeling disappointed and with mixed feelings about returning. I really hope they can step it up in the future because the community definitely needs places like this to thrive.
