When I first moved into the sober housing at the Center for Recovery and Wellness Resources in Houston, I had high hopes. The place had a solid reputation, and I really wanted to achieve my sobriety goals. However, what I found was a bit disappointing. Although the environment was safe and communal, the staff seemed to lack that genuine support I was hoping for. I think they could really benefit from hiring people with real experience in recovery. It’s tough to feel fully supported when you're facing such a challenging journey. That said, I did appreciate the structure of the program and the community aspect. If they could enhance staff training, I believe it could be a truly transformative place for those in recovery.
